Planned Road Construction
May 8, 2009

We will be replacing a culvert on Springy Pond Road in Otis that is located between the Bailey and Berry residences.  This 9-inch diameter steel culvert is in very poor condition, and will be replaced with a 12" HDPE culvert.  This work will be done later this year when there is no running water at this culvert crossing.  The road will be closed for approximately two hours during this work, and we will provide notice prior to the day work will proceed.

If we have sufficient funds, we will be replacing a culvert on Springy Pond Road in Clifton that is immediately south of the transmission line crossing.  This 12-inch diameter HDPE culvert, installed in approximately 1985, has collapsed.  It will be replaced with a 12" diameter HDPE culvert.  This work would be done later this year when there is no running water at this culvert crossing.  The road would be closed for approximately two hours during this work, and we will provide notice prior to the day work would proceed.

Previous Work
(an incomplete listing)

On Monday, April 27, 2009 Herbert Jordan, General Contractor, graded both Springy Pond Road and Middle Pond Road.  We also added gravel to selected portions of Springy Pond Road.  John Williams Construction donated the gravel placed on the road between Route 180 and their pit.

On Monday, April 20, 2009 John Williams Construction did ditching work along Springy Pond Road in Otis, in the area across the road from the Duran residence.  The purpose of this ditching is to direct water, from a seep that has developed in recent years, away from the road.

On Friday, November 3, 2006, Herbert Jordan graded Springy Pond Road from Route 180 to the Springy Pond Outlet and Middle Pond Road from Springy Pond Road to Hendricksons Lane.  The portion of the road crossing the property of David & Sandra Sanzaro was not graded at the request of David Sanzaro (see note).

On Tuesday, April 11, 2006, John Williams Construction widened a section of road near Route 180.

On Monday, April 3, 2006, John Williams Construction widened a section of road adjacent to the power-line crossing.

On Saturday, October 22, 2005, John Williams replaced the three culverts nearest Route 180 along Springy Pond Road in Clifton.  We also added one culvert at the power-line crossing.

On Wednesday, November 2 and Thursday, November 3, 2005, Gordon Fellis
graded Springy Pond Road from Route 180 to the Springy Pond Outlet and
Middle Pond Road from Springy Pond Road to Hendricksons Lane.
